The establishment of the Export Led Growth Strategy Unit (ELGSU) stands as a major government intervention aimed at positioning Uganda to fully harness opportunities presented by global preferential market frameworks—most notably the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), and the European Union’s Everything But Arms (EBA) initiative.

Our mission

Our mission is to facilitate, promote, and sustain Uganda’s participation in high-value global markets. We achieve this by:

• Enhancing production capacity and value addition across priority sectors.
• Ensuring compliance with international standards to unlock premium markets.
• Strengthening strategic partnerships between government, private sector, and international development partners.
• Advocating for policies that improve the ease of doing export business.
